Fresh Design Journal

Editorial policy

Fresh Design Journal aims to make design easier to understand without overstating what an example can prove. We explain our reasoning, identify uncertainty and take responsibility for correcting mistakes.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against appropriate sources and make clear when a point is an interpretation rather than an established fact. We use precise language, explain necessary design terms and avoid claims that a single example speaks for every reader or situation.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for reader value, not to meet a partner's preferred conclusion. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage or favourable treatment. If a relationship could affect how a piece is understood, we disclose it with the relevant material.

Corrections

If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review correction requests and, when a factual error is confirmed, update the text and explain the change where it is useful to readers.

Partners and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is clearly labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; when an illustration is AI-generated, we identify it as such. Illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.

Our point of view

Good design makes choices visible

Fresh Design Journal looks beyond whether something seems appealing. We ask what it helps people do, what it asks them to notice and how its details shape the experience.
