Write for us
Fresh Design Journal welcomes pitches that help general readers see how design works in the objects, graphics, interfaces and services around them. We value clear thinking, careful examples and a distinct point of view.
What to pitch
Propose a focused story with a clear question at its centre: a visual convention readers can learn to recognise, an interface choice with useful trade-offs, an object whose details reward attention, or a design idea with a revealing history. Choose a subject that remains useful beyond a short-lived trend.
What makes a strong proposal
Tell us the working title, central idea, intended reader and why the subject matters. Name the examples or sources you expect to use, note any relevant expertise or potential conflicts, and explain what readers will understand by the end. Keep the scope tight enough for one article.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and select the editorial question option. A concise pitch is more useful than a complete draft. Please do not include confidential information or assume that sending a proposal means it has been accepted.
Good design makes choices visible
Fresh Design Journal looks beyond whether something seems appealing. We ask what it helps people do, what it asks them to notice and how its details shape the experience.
